The InSight Fuel Gauge is a low current draw (29 milliamps), constantly backlit battery gauge that will show the state of charge (SOC) for up to 10 InSight Batteries connected in parallel. Unlike lead-acid, RELiON lithium batteries won't slow your cart down. The InSight Fuel Gauge helps you determine when it's time to charge your batteries.

If you're running InSight Series in your cart, this is THE fuel gauge you'll need as it was specifically designed to work with these batteries only.

PRODUCT REVIEWS

Paul W.

I purchased two Relion Insight 48V batteries and did not think I needed the Fuel Gauge. I was wrong! Knowing how much power is left is so much better than trying to use the SOC leds. I highly recommend the Fuel Gauge.

Lance E.

I have two InSight 48V batteries and a Lester Summit 2 charger (OB). With the addition of the InSight Fuel Gauge, I now feel like I have a complete system because I know when I need to charge (much less frequently than I was prior to the fuel gauge). I highly recommend RELiON products!

We’ve installed over 20 of the InSight Series Fuel Gauges and have been very impressed with the ease of installation and the accuracy of SOC. Its intelligent design being tied directly into the battery management system is definitely an advantage. Our customers like having a meter that reflects an accurate state of charge so they don't get caught short of power when they are away from home.

Real-Time Data on Your Battery Bank

The fuel gauge receives real-time current data from all parallel connected battery CANs and calculates the remaining amp hours as a percentage from 0-100%. The fuel gauge will display several messages throughout its operation cycle:

• Number of batteries detected

• State of Charge (SOC) as a percentage from 0-100%

• A “LOBATT” message will display when the battery bank is below 20% SOC

• A “LOBATT” message will flash when the battery bank is below 10% SOC

Frequently Asked Questions

What batteries does the Fuel Gauge work with?
The Fuel Gauge works with 24V and 48V InSight models only. It will not work with Legacy Series or other batteries.
How do I mount the Fuel Gauge in my vehicle/equipment?
We recommend using a 52mm  0.4mm (2-1/16”) hole saw drill bit capable of cutting your mounting surface material (wood, plastic, metal, etc.). The mounting bracket is included and can be rotated to the proper tension to hold the fuel gauge firmly in place.
Can I turn the Fuel Gauge backlight off?
No, the fuel gauge backlight is always on and only consumes .029 amps. This will not affect InSight batteries going into Sleep Mode because the minimum current for Active Mode is .8 amps.
Will the Fuel Gauge always being on drain my batteries faster?
The current draw of 29 milliamps (.029 amps) will be imperceptible. Even if you do not shut your batteries off manually and they were to sit in standby mode for 24 hours before sleep mode activated the fuel gauge consumption would sum to .7-amp hours which is about 1% of a 60-amp hour bank
